A score outside. A ritual. A way to explore the place. A way to explore yourself. A way to explore us.

The first event was more of a improvisation. For this second event, the continuation of the first event, Skälva prepared a score. A score is a set of rules or transitions that aim to give a structure that the dancers navigate through together. It is a good idea to make a score if you have some ideas about what you want to go deeper into. It is a way to invite others into your thoughts and perceptions.

Scores are sometimes used in choreography as well as in contact improvisation.

Warming up in the first location. A circle of stones. Trees. Sand. Benches.

Starting with the space. Feel it. Since you are in open air there is no closed room. You build a room through moving in the space. You explores its possibilities and set its limits.

You start on our own. What can I do here? How can I play here? You will probably get inspired by what others do. The room tightens.

You continue together. You meet in the space. You depart physically but stay in the space together. Your bodies move away and toward each other.

The limit of time (20 min) for this place runs out.

Collect impressions, walk in togetherness.

Exploring the second space. A grassy slope.

Everything starts with the space – experience it with all your senses. Focus on it. (Leave the social interaction that often absorbs us.)

Interact with the space. Explore your bodies limits/ possibilities – what do I want to do here?

Finally blend totally with the space and the other bodies in the space, be a we.

Collect everything, walk in togetherness.

The last location – A Jam

A  jam is a totally open space where people meet to move together and explore through listening. In this score it is a great possibility to Intermix everything and draw on your experiences of interacting with spaces and others in the two other locations.

Feedback time.

Why a score like this?

Because it is fun.

To find your own dance.

To get a strong sense of being we.

To strengthen your focus.

Why dance in Public Spaces?

Because it is fun.

It is a nice way to feel a space.

You get a lot of input from the surroundings that you can use in your output.

You mix dance and movement into ordinary life situations. If you do it regularly you will suddenly find yourself dancing when you cook food.

A sense of freedom.
